Express Yourself / August 2016 Boxycharm

Boxycharm is my favorite subscription box of all time! It is a box full of amazing goodies + delivered right to your doorstep each month. The 5-6 items that come in each box are typically full-size makeup or skin-care products from (typically) high-end brands. I have honestly never been disappointed in a box, + I have been receiving this particular one for over two years now. For $21/month [including shipping], you receive around $100+ worth of products. Each month has a new theme that goes along with the products included. August 2016's theme is "Express Yourself!:

1. Coastal Scents Blush + Bronzer Mini Palette with Angled Blush Brush [$19.95] / This palette consists of 5 different shades - 2 bronzers, 2 blushes + a highlighter. It will be great to take on-the-go since it includes most of the necessities you need to complete your face makeup in one package! I swatched the colors + most of them are nice + pigmented. Also, the mini blush brush that came with the palette is just too cute!

1. Aloette Time Repair Serum [$48.] / This serum is an age-defying skin care complex, fortified with alpha + beta hydroxy acids to smooth away dead skin cells + powerful antioxidants to protect skin from damaging free radicals - reducing the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles. For my initial test on this product, the formula was very soft + creamy, however, I am not a huge fan of the scent, but that isn't a big deal.

1. Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick [$10.] / This liquid lipstick is in a very bright red color; the perfect red with some orange undertones. This isn't a shade that I usually wear, but it never hurts to have this color liquid lipstick in your collection! This Fall, I want to go out of my comfort zone a bit with makeup + this may be the push I needed. I swatched a bit on my hand, the formula was very pigmented but did seem a bit dry once it was matte [it is still in the process of drying below, it took forever!]. I will have to test further on my lips to see how it feels throughout the day.

1. Doucce Cosmetics Maxlash Volumizer Mascara [$22.] / I received a Doucce mascara in one of my boxes before + was/still am obsessed with it, so I was pumped when I saw this item. I have yet to try it on my lashes [I have so many mascaras that I'm trying to use them up before diving into a new one], but the wand looks awesome + I can't wait to try it.

1. Beauty for Real Shadow Stx [$19.] / I am a huuuge lover of cream eyeshadows + sticks. This brand creates paragon free + cruelty free products, which is definitely a PLUS for me! [FYI - I am not vegan, but anything I can do to support veganism is awesome in my book!] The swatch I did on my hand was super creamy, pigmented + a color that I could totally wear blended out all over my lid. I know this is going to come in handy when I'm doing a very simple makeup look for work or on the weekends when lounging around!

All-in-all, this box came to a retail price of $118.95! Need I say more? Hope you're looking forward to next month's unboxing as much as I am!
